Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC)

SMYRC provides a safe, supervised, harassment-free space for sexual and gender minority youth ages 13-23 who participate in positive activities like art, music, community organizing, open mic nights, drag shows, and support groups and receive services including case management, counseling, education, and more in Portland. With the goals of increasing academic success and access to jobs, reducing poverty and school drop-out, SMYRC honors, empowers, and supports LGBTQ youth to be their best selves and become leaders in their communities.

Freak Out! PDX

Organizing #QueerResistance in the age of Trump. The fight for our LGBTQIA+ community looms on the horizon once more, and we intend to be proactive about it.

Portland Faeries

The first spiritual gathering for radical faeries in 1978 was a gay male event. Faerie consciousness has since then for the most part expanded to include the full spectrum of gender and sexual identity while retaining a highly queer, anti-authoritarian, communitarian, colorful, loud and loving take on things.

Q Center

The center provides a safe space to support and celebrate LGBTQ diversity, equity, visibility and community building in Portland.

Sankofa Collective Northwest

Sankofa Collective Northwest, formerly known as PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) Portland Black Chapter, promotes the health and well-being of specifically Black gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people, their families and friends through support, education, organizing and advocacy.

PFLAG is working to make sure that all people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer are not only valued by society, but take pride in and value themselves. We do this through providing peer-to-peer support, educating people on the issues that are important to the community, and advocating for inclusive policies and laws.

Founded in 1994, our mission is to encourage and celebrate the positive diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans communities, and to assist in the education of all people through the development of activities that showcase the history, accomplishments, and talents of these communities.

The Imperial Sovereign Rose Court is Oregon’s oldest LGBTQ organization.

Pride Foundation

Pride Foundation is a Northwest leader in the pursuit of equality for the LGBTQ community. As a donor-supported community foundation and a catalyst for change, we support transformative philanthropy, programs, and individuals that help people find joy and strength in who they are.

Trans Assistance Program

A permanent fund, replenished through donations and grants, that exists to finance legal/ID changes and healthcare for trans folks in need. Because of the enduring nature of the program, we can ensure that recipients’ specific needs, which may arise at random times, are met without them having to attempt to raise the money on their own. In support of the TAP fund, we are building a vetted directory of legal experts and medical providers, saving trans folks the trouble of searching for the right doctors or the right paperwork. Access to quality care is a human right. Our mission is to ensure that all trans and gender nonconforming people receive culturally competent service.

Trans Lifeline

Trans Lifeline is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the well being of transgender people. We run a hotline staffed by transgender people for transgender people. Trans Lifeline volunteers are ready to respond to whatever support needs members of our community might have

Pink Pistols

We are a shooting group that honors diversity and is open to all shooters. We help bring new shooters into the practice and provide a fun social environment for all our members. We work to build bridges between the shooting community and other communities, such as those based on alternative sexualities. We advocate the use of lawfully-owned, lawfully-concealed firearms for the self-defense of the sexual minority community.

Transgender Law Center

Transgender Law Center changes law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression.

Familia Trans Queer Liberation Movement

Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement (Familia: TQLM) is the only national organization that addresses, organizes, educates, and advocates for the issues most important to our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) and Latino communities. Familia: TQLM is inclusive and serves of all LGBTQ Latinos, Latinas, and gender nonconforming individuals. We also collaborate with non-LGBTQ families and friends who support our vision of a united LGBTQ Latino and Latina community.

National Center for Lesbian Rights

NCLR is a national legal organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families through litigation, legislation, policy, and public education.

Immigration Equality

Since 1994, Immigration Equality has been proud to advocate for and represent lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ), and HIV-positive immigrants seeking safety, fair treatment, and freedom.

The Queer Detainee Empowerment Project

The Queer Detainee Empowerment Project assists folks coming out of immigration detention in securing structural, health/wellness, educational, legal, and emotional support and services. We work to organize around the structural barriers and state violence that LGBTQI detainee/undocumented folks face related to their immigration status, race, sexuality, and gender expression/ identity.
We are committed to assisting folks in building lives outside of detention, to breaking down the barriers that prevent folks from building fulfilling and strong lives, and to keeping queer families together by demanding an end to deportations/ detention/ policing. We believe in creating a narrative of thriving, not just surviving.
